Zilong obtained his BSc degree in Communication and Transportation Engineering at China University of Mining and Technology, P.R.China. In September 2010, he entered Tongji University, Shanghai, P.R.China. He obtained his MSc degree in Highway and Railway Engineering on ‘The Influence of Substructure Detachment on the Dynamic Response of Slab Track at Transition Section’. Since September 2012, he started his PhD research in Section of Road and Railway Engineering of TU Delft.
Wheel-rail impact at crossing panel: the research goal is to minimise damage development by optimisation of rail design in combination with properly designed maintenance methods such as grinding depth and interval.
